Tournament specific rules

Modified: 16th of Nov 2025

  • All games are played 5 vs 5, with 2*15 minutes game time.
  • All games have a maximal length of 45 minutes.
  • Penalty length:
    • minor - two (2) minutes
    • major - five (5), ten (10) and 20 minutes.
  • All game penalties are addressed to Tournament Organizers that determine if the penalized player is to receive further game suspension.
  • Ice is maintained after every second game.
  • In case of a force majeure, technical issue or any delay of the game that does not make it possible for the game to be played at least one full period before Maximal Game Time is exhausted, the Tournament Organizer shall determine the outcome of the game.
    • Order of consideration: game resumed at a later time, game played at a later time, leading team considered a winner, game determined a tie.
    • Both teams’ representatives and referees are heard prior to the decision.
  • During the preliminary round, each win grants the winning team two (2) points; a tie one (1) point for each team; the game losing team zero (0) points.
  • If two teams from the same club are to proceed to the same branch of placement game rounds, the Tournament Organizer has the right to switch one of the teams with another corresponding team with the same placement as the team changed.
    • Example: a team from the AA pool proceeds to the Middle pool of placement rounds, and the same club’s A team is promoted to the same branch in the Middle pool. The Tournament Organizer has the right to move either the AA team or the A team to the opposite branch by switching a team with the same placement in their corresponding preliminary group.
    • Order of determination:
      • two teams from the same club are not to play against each other prior to the final placement games
      • two teams are not to play against each other twice, prior to the final placement games
      • two teams from the same regular season league are not to play against each other, prior to the final placement games
  • If two teams from the same club are to play in a final placement game, they have the right to request a different opponent from the Tournament Organizer. The Tournament Organizer forwards the request to suitable teams and offers a replacement. All teams affected by the change are to agree.
    • Order of determination: one placement game lower than requested placement game; two placement games lower than requested placement game; one placement game higher than requested placement game.
    • If no team agrees to change places, the initiating team can offer a forfeit offer, when it officially loses the placement game(s) 0-5, and uses the game’s time slot to play an out-of-tournament game against an opponent.
