The competition rules of the Finnish Ice Hockey Federation are followed in the tournament, with the following exceptions:
Game regulation time:
Games will be played 3x20minutes. Intermission will be 10 minutes.
Additional game information:
Game shall begin immediately after the break and the setting up of the nets.
30 second time-out is allowed.
Only the line scoring the goal is allowed to celebrate on the ice. Everyone else must stay on the bench.
Preliminary round:
All teams play one game against each other, so each team will have 3 games in the preliminary round. The games in the preliminary round can end in a tie. There will be no overtime or shootout.
Final round (gold and bronze medal games):
First and second placed teams after the preliminary round advance to the gold medal game. Third and fourth placed will play in the bronze medal game.
Overtime procedure in the @inal round:
If the game is tied after regulation (3x20min), the teams will then play a ”sudden death” overtime of not more than 5 minutes. The team scoring Oirst is declared the winner. The overtime shall be played 3 on 3. There will be no intermission between the regulation time and the beginning of the overtime.
Shootout procedure in the @inal round:
If the games is still tied after the 5-minute overtime there will be a shootout, with no intermission between the overtime and the shootout.
The shootout procedure of the competition rules of the Finnish Ice Hockey Federation shall be followed, with the following exceptions:
- The awayteam will begin the shootout
- The shootout begins with three(3)differen tshooters from each team taking alternate shots.The
three players from each team will be named before the beginning of the shootout.
- If the score is still tied after alls hots are taken by each team, the procedure shall continue with a tiebreak shootout, which the home team will start. The game shall be Oinished as soon as a duel of two players brings the decisive result.
- Same player cannot beused twice for the shoot out until all players int he team have taken their turn. Points:
- 3 points for the winning team at the conclusion of regulation time
- 1 point for both teams at the conclusion of regulation time if the game is tied - 0 points for the team losing the game in regulation time
Ranking:
First placed team is the team that gets most points in the preliminary round, and so on.
If two or more teams end up tied on points, then a tie breaking formula will be applied as follows:
1. Points
2. Head-to-head points
3. Goal difference Goals for
5. Head-to-head goal difference
6. Head-to-head goals for
7. Dice
Forfeit games:
If one of the teams does not arrive on the ice according to the schedule or does not Oinish the match, they will forfeit the game to the opponent 5-0.
Penalties:
Games shall be officiated according to the competition rules of the Finnish Ice Hockey Federation and the IIHF.
Team officials: A game-misconduct penalty results in the immediate and automatic expulsion of the team official from the tournament.
Players: A game-misconduct penalty results in the automatic expulsion of the player from that game and an automatic one-game suspension in the tournament. A match penalty results in the automatic expulsion of the player from the tournament.
Team entry procedure:
The player lists must be submitted 1 hour before the beginning of the game. The team can enter up to 20 players and 2 goalies in the list. There can be up to 6 team officials in the game per each team.
Age group:
Players born on 2003 and after are allowed to play in the tournament.
Game officials:
Officials from the Ice Hockey Referees of Helsinki shall officiate the games.
Accidents and player insurance:
The organising committee has not insured players and are not responsible for any accidents or injuries that may occur. All players and officials participating in the tournament must be insured in accordance with the rules of the Finnish Ice Hockey Federation. First Aid will be present throughout the tournament.
The organiser is not responsible for possible cases of theft during the tournament.
Game jerseys:
The home team shall wear dark and away team light jerseys for the game. If one of the teams only has one set of jerseys, the team must communicate with the opponent on the colors to be used well in advance of the game.
Awards:
The winning team of the tournament will be awarded with a trophy and top 3 teams with medals.
Player of the game - awards:
A player from each team will be awarded a Player of the Game - award in each game. The selection will be made by the team officials of the opposing team.
