Tournament Rules

Tournament Rules: The tournament follows the valid U12(E) junior rules of the SJL supplemented by the special rules presented here. Match order: In the AA series there are 6 teams in one starting group and in the AAA series there are 6 teams in one starting group. Starter Set: In the initial series, all teams play one match against each of the teams in the initial group. Each team will have 5 matches in the preliminary series. Ranking matches: After the preliminary series, the placement matches will be played according to the match schedule on Sunday. 1vs2, 3vs4, 5vs6. Score: A team gets 2 points for a match win, 1 for a draw and 0 for a loss. When two or more teams are tied, the order of the tied teams is decided as follows: Determination of starting series ranking: Placements in the blocks are determined according to the following rules set by the tournament organizer: 1) Points 2) Scores of mutual matches 3) Goal difference of group matches 4) Goals scored in group matches 5) Block penalty minutes 6) Lottery The matches of the preliminary series can end in a draw or a victory for the other team. The winning goal race of the ranking matches: When the ranking match ends exactly after the actual game time, it will be continued immediately with the winning goal competition. The competition rules of the Finnish Ice Hockey League are used in the winning goal competition, with the following exceptions. The game for the winning goal is started by the visiting team indicated in the match schedule. First, three shooters from each team are named for the winning goal race. If the result of three pairs of players after it's a tie, let's continue with the "once over" principle, couple at a time. The home team shoots first. The same player may not shoot twice until all players on the team have shot at least once in the game for the winning goal. The match is decided when the other team's player succeeds in scoring and his partner does not. Match duration: The duration of the match is 2 x 15 min of effective playing time, the maximum total time of the match is 45 min, meaning from the start time of the match. If the schedule of the tournament is delayed for some reason, the total playing time can be shortened, however to a minimum of 40 minutes. The team must be ready in 5 min. before the start of the match and the match will be started immediately at the place of the ice run and goals after setting. The tournament is played on the fly and overtime is not allowed. Delivery: If the team does not arrive on the field according to the schedule or does not finish the match, it is condemned to lose that match 5–0. The time limit for being late is 3 minutes into the match schedule after the specified start time. Penalties: In accordance with the Competition and Junior rules of the Finnish Ice Hockey Association. Match penalties that may follow from major penalties are given by the decision of the tournament director and the referees who judged the match. Withdrawal, player lists and protocols: The player lists must be submitted electronically in advance by 12.04.2024 at 12:00, to Gameresultonline or sapko12@juniori-sapko.fi, in the format SURNAME First name. The list of players must be reported to the tournament office no later than 60 min. before the start of the match, if it differs from what was announced to the tournament organizers in advance. The minutes of the matches are delivered electronically to the team managers afterwards, if necessary. The right to participate and play in different teams: Players registered in registered teams can participate in the tournament. A field player can represent his club in only one team participating in the tournament. You can play goalkeepers of your own club in all teams participating in the tournament. If only one goalkeeper is named to the team, the team can if the goalkeeper is injured or if you are sick, borrow it from another team in the tournament. Judiciary: The judges of the tournament are the judges appointed by SlnETK. Jury of the tournament: The tournament jury is made up of the tournament manager and the head judge who judged the match. Objections must be submitted in writing no later than 10 minutes after the end of the match. The objection fee is 200e, which is paid in cash. The amount will be returned to the protesting team if the jury accepts the protest. Accidents and player insurance: The organizers have not insured the players and are not responsible for any accidents or injuries that may happen to the players. All players and officials participating in the tournament must be insured in accordance with the rules of the SJL. The organizer may not respond during the tournament of thefts that happen. Awards: In both series, the winning teams of the tournament are awarded with trophies. 1st place: Trophy and medals, 2nd place: Trophy and medals, 3rd place: Trophy and medals, 4th place trophy, 5th place trophy, 6th place trophy. In the ranking matches, the best player of the match is chosen from each team and awarded with a trophy. The selection is made by the team's own coach. From the winning team of the tournament, the MVP player of the tournament is selected and awarded with a trophy, the selection is made by the team's own coach.
