Welcome to the Jokerit -07 "The Hockey Player Does Not Bully" Tournament!

Jokerit 2007 is organizing the traditional AAA junior tournament 26.-27.12.2017 in Helsinki, Finland. The international tournament hosts ten teams, from SKA St. Petersburg to some of Finland's premier junior teams.

During this season, we have been working on "The Hockey Player Does Not Bully" -theme. Our activities have included professional lectures, workshops and homework for our kids. They have understood that becoming a great hockey player is a lot more than learning to skate and to slapshot: it requires grit, positive self control, social skills and curiosity to learn more. The kids have been coming up with excellent and practical ideas on how hockey in our  team becomes even more enjoyable.

We have built our work on positive charahter strengths. The kids have worked out their own strengths and identified the same for their friends. It has been a great exercise to map out for example creativity, curiosity, love of learning, perspective taking ability, bravery, zest, honesty, perseverance and kindness as our kids' strenghts to build on.

We believe that this work will have a great effect also outside of the hockey rink, to the school and other groups were our kids are around. In the tournament, we will involve the participating teams to work on the same "The Hockey Player Does Not Bully" -theme within their boys and coaches.
