Tournament rules

 

1. The tournament complies with the SJL's Southern Region E2 junior rules with the following exceptions:

2. The teams will be divided into  two divisions of 6 teams, the match schedule and the division can be found at: www.gameresultsonline.com

3. A match won will be awarded with 2 points. A tie will be awarded with 1 point. If the teams are at even points after the start, the teams' final positions will be resolved as follows:

      1. Points of mutual games

      2. Goals scored

      3. Goals scored in mutual games

      4. Goal difference in the division games

      5. Goals scored in division games

      6. Penalties

      7. Draw


During placement rounds, if the game is tied after the regular playing time, the game score will be settled with penalty shots. The coaches shall immediately after regular playing time nominate three players to shoot penalty shots and if the situation is still even after the three shooters, one more shooter at a time will continue shooting until the other team fails. However, a player who has already shot can only be used to shoot again after all the team players have shot once. The visiting team starts the penalty shots. The referee shall select which end of the rink shall be used for the penalty shots.

4. In the tournament, the duration of all games is 2x22 minutes continuous playing time. The continuous playing time starts when the game starts. Between the periods there is a 1 minute break.

5. Time-outs are not allowed.

6. The number of players is not limited but the team shall be announced at least 1 week before the start of the tournament at gameresultsonline.com. Changes to the teams must be notified to the tournament office 30 minutes before the start of the game.

7. The result service is handled electronically at www.gameresultsonline.com.

8. The home team will play with a dark jersey and the guest team with a light jersey. The teams can agree on a match-specific arrangement for each game.

9. The team must be ready to start the game 5 minutes before the game time. A team that is not on time to start the game is sentenced to lose the game with readings 5-0.

10. The Referees of Helsinki Hockey Referees HJT Ry and junior Referees are acting as Referees in the tournament.

11. Tournament organizers are not responsible for any accidents or other damages of participating teams. Every player and team member must have valid insurance on their own or on their team. There is an appointed first aid person on behalf of the tournament organizer.

12. Only a team leader may file a protest regarding a game. The protest must be presented orally to the Referee and the Opponent immediately after the end of the match and in writing to the Tournament Office within 10 minutes of the end of the match.The protest fee is 200 euros, which will be refunded if the protest is accepted. The protest and feedback is reviewed by the three-person-jury of the tournament, consisting of the tournament leader and two other members. The jury does not have to justify a decision and decisions cannot be appealed.

13. A team penalty to a team staff member - and / or a game penalty for conduct will automatically result in the closing of the tournament for the penalized individual. A player's penalty for a conduct will automatically result in the penalized individual missing one game and a game penalty will result in the closing of the tournament for the penalized individual. Major penalties always lead to normal disciplinary treatment by the Ice Hockey Association's Disciplinary Officer.

14. The top three teams in the tournament are rewarded with trophies and medals. 4-12 players will get Jokerit memorabilia. In addition, each team will be rewarded with the "tsemppari" award (translation: player with a spirited attitude) of the tournament, which award is selected by the management of each team at the latest during the second half of the final match.

15. The organizer of the tournament has the sole right to change the timetable, the game system and the game program for particularly important reasons. Notifications will be made to the participating teams without delay.

16. Tournament organizers encourage everyone to participate in the spirit of fair play. We ask players, staff members, parents and other viewers to respect and encourage others.
