Rules

Tournament is played according the U11 rules of the Finnish Ice Hockey Association. Every participating player/goalie must be born in 2015 or before. Possible over aged players need to be informed/accepted by the tournament host.

Full book of rules can be found through the link beneath. Here are the key exeptions from the normal IIHF rules:

• Limited checking: Checking is permitted only when players are skating in same direction and are attached to the board or more than 2 meters from the board. All kind of checking from crossing directions is firmly forbidden.
• Every team must use all players marked in the roster evenly (exept second goalie).
• Line up can be changed freely, also after icing
• Minor penalties are 1min, instead of 2min
• Players only need to serve personal penalties in the penalty box. Team and goalie penalties will be served from the bench.
• No hybrid icing. So if the terms of icing fulfills, no need for attacking team to rush for it.
• Goalies are permitted to play the puck also in the corners. So no “brodeur-rule”.

Every player and official needs to have an insurance. Tournament host does not have any insurance for the participating teams.
