Tournament rules

General Information

The tournament will follow the rules of the Finnish Ice Hockey Association for the U11 age group, along with these tournament rules.

Every player participating in the event must have a valid game pass and insurance. The tournament organizer has not insured the players or officials of the tournament.

Players

Teams may include players born in 2014 and later. Players born before 2014 must be agreed upon separately with the tournament organizer.

Games are played with full teams of five players.

Players are assigned to teams before the tournament begins, and generally, one player plays in one team. Exceptions can only be made with the organizer’s permission.

Playing Area

The tournament games are played on a full-size rink according to the normal U11 league system.

The ice will be resurfaced after every second game.

Game Format by Series

All series are played in two preliminary groups, and placement matches are played according to the match schedules published on these tournament pages, based on the preliminary group standings.

Each team will play four games in the tournament (two teams in the AAA series will play five games).

Game Time

One game consists of 2 x 15 minutes of effective playing time, with a maximum game time of 45 minutes.

Timeouts are not allowed.

The tournament management has the right to change the game time for justified reasons.

If a team is not ready on the ice to start the game according to the schedule, the game will start with the delayed team at a 2-0 disadvantage.

Equipment and Goals

The tournament uses official black pucks and full-size goals.

Possible Changes

The tournament organizer has the right to change the series and match schedules and timetables if special reasons require it. There may also be minor changes to these tournament rules once the number of participating teams and groups is confirmed.

Any changes will be promptly communicated to the participating teams.
