TOURNAMENT RULES HC GREAT QUARTER+ONE 31.3-2.4.2023
1. Game duration
Group stage
- each game lasts on 1 x 35 minutes and the clock runs the entire time
2. Tournament Format
- In the group stage, every team plays each other. Points awarded: 3 for a win, 1 for a drawn match, 0 for a loss.
- If teams are level on points in finish, so the final placement is determined: result between the teams, more wins, goals scored, toss-up
3. Nature of games
Teams are asked to play each game in a sporting manner and within the rules of the sport. Team managers are responsible for the conduct of both players and team supporters off-ice.
- No hard contact
- No slap shoot
4. Game Rules
- The tournament relies upon teams being ready to take to the ice when the previous game ends. Excluding resurface
- Only starting line ups may take to the ice at the beginning of each game (ok everyone else can have a very brief skate round).
- There are no on-ice ‘warm ups’ prior to the commencement of any of the games.
- There should only be brief handshakes on ice at the end of a game; players must leave the ice as soon as possible.
5. Penalties
- All minor penalties will be of 2 minutes duration timed from the re-commencement of play. Referees will award major penalties for more serious offences.
- Any player who receives two 10 minute penalties throughout the tournament will miss the next game
- 5+20 minute penalty – player misses next game (one game).
- Any player receiving two 5+20 minute penalties throughout the duration of the tournament so player takes no further part of the tournament.
