Rules and regulations

1. BASIC PROVISIONS

2. TECHNICAL PROVISIONS

 

1. Game rules

a) It is played according to the competition and disciplinary rules of the IIHF and the provisions of these propositions. The final decision in all disputed cases belongs to the organizing committee of the tournament.

b) Combined teams of players born in 2008 and 2009 and younger will participate in the tournament. Before the start of the tournament, the team leaders will present valid registration cards and a list of players with date of birth and jersey number to the tournament organizer. The team leader is responsible for ensuring that all participating players are properly insured.

c) If a player is expelled before the end of the game, STK will decide on his participation in the next (closest) match of the tournament.

 

2. Game system

4 teams will take part in the tournament, which will compete in a group with a Round Robin system. The semifinal games will follow – Game (A) 1st vs 4th team and Game (B) 2nd vs 3rd tea. Placement games will follow accordingly – winner of the games A and B (GOLD MEDAL GAME) and loser of the game A and B (BRONZE MEDAL GAME). Each team will play a total of 5 games.

 

The placement is decided by:

a) higher number of points obtained

b) if 2 or more teams have equal points, their order will be determined by the results of the games played between these teams 

c) if there is an equality of points from mutual games, the goal difference from mutual matches decides, in case of the same goal difference, the team with the higher number of scored goals will be ranked higher

d) if the tie continues, the goal difference from all games decides

e) if the goal difference from all matches is the same, the higher number of goals scored from all games decides

f) draw

 

3. Playing time

a) All games are played 2 x 20 minutes stop time

b) The ice will be resurfaced after every game

c) Mercy Rule - If one team takes a lead by 5 (five) or more goals during the last ten minutes of the second period, the clock will automatically switch to a running time until the goal difference is below 5 (five) goals again.

d) Tie is recognized as a result during the group stage phase. Tie in the placement and play-off games are followed by an overtime and penalty shots

e) Overtime - If a placement/playoff game is tied at the end of regulation time, a five-minute overtime period shall be played after a two-minute intermission. The teams will not change ends for the overtime period. The game will end when the five minutes have expired or when a goal is scored; the scoring team will be declared the winner. All overtime periods shall be played with each team at the numerical strength of three (3) skaters and one (1) goaltender. In case of penalty, the team in advantage plays a four (4) on three (3) powerplay. In case of two player advantage, a five (5) on (3) powerplay is applied. Once the penalties have expired, the game shall get back to three (3) on (3) format after the next whistle.

f) Penalty Shots - if no goal is scored in the overtime period then the Penalty-Shot Shootout (PSS) procedure will apply. The following procedure will be utilized:

1.The coaches of each team nominate three (3) players and the order in which they will run in the PSS. They shall pass this information on to the referee.

2. The referee shall invite the captains of both teams to draw a coin to determine which team will start the PSS procedure.

3. In the first stage of PSS, three nominated players from both teams will play their penalty shots. A team that has scored more goals in three series will be called the winner.

4. In case of a scoring tie after the first stage of the PSS, the game shall move to the second stage, where coaches nominate one player for each series until one team scores in the PSS and the other does not. The second stage is played in the sudden victory format and teams may nominate a player of their choice multiple times.

5. The team that started with the PSS in the first stage shall enter the second stage as second.

d) Before each game, the teams will have 2-3 minutes for warm up, the game will start immediately after skating, without adjusting the ice surface.

 

4. Referees

All games are officiated by 2 main referees. Referee and game staff are delegated by the organizer.

 

5. Game sheet

There will be also team roster.

7. Objections

Each team can file an objection to the course and result of their own game. The objection must be submitted no later than 10 minutes after the end of the game, in writing to the STK of the tournament with a deposit of CZK 500. If the objection is rejected, the deposit will be forfeited in favor of the tournament organizer, otherwise it will be returned.

 

8. Jerseys

Each team is required to have 2 sets of different colored jerseys (dark and light). The choice of jersey color is given to the team listed as the home team (it is listed first in the game schedule).

3. FINAL PROVISIONS

 

a) Teams are obliged to follow these propositions and instructions of the organizer during the tournament.

b) The organizer reserves the right to make corrections and changes to these propositions, if the need or effort to ensure a smooth and peaceful tournament requires it.
